A camping stove is a portable outdoor cooking gadget. There are different camping stove sizes and weights available, but the two main types are canister and liquid fuel designs. You can choose from different types of Optimus stoves which are award winning camping stoves considered as the benchmark for outdoor cooking equipment standards. The Optimus Nova stove has received awards that weigh more than the actual stove itself.

This portable camping stove offers performance, durability, and ease of use. You can count on the Optimus Nova to fire up in a snap with its patented quick-priming burner. Every user can rest assured knowing that this stove will always burn strong and clean, thanks to the built-in MAGIC magnetic cleaning needle. It features a self-purging Flipstop pump that makes shutdown a task simple enough using just one finger. Despite the stove’s long reach pot supports, it folds up smaller than its fuel task which means more room for your food.

Problems with Propane Cylinders

No wonder propane stoves are becoming more and more a part of the camping luggage. The propane camp stove is so easy to use. Simply screw the fuel bottle into the stove, open the valve and apply light. You are ready to heat up your food. Enjoy your meal and thank the propane stove for your good fortune.

Propane stoves do not have to be pumped and require no complicated priming. Temperature can be regulated with the simple adjustment of the valve. They are simply constructed and require very little maintenance. The only hitch could be that bottled propane comes in thick cylinders that can be a little heavy for the backpacker. There is also the little problem of proper disposal of the empty cartridge.

For me, the best place in the world is on top of a mountain. There, I feel closest to God. It’s a place where I get to totally relax and recharge my batteries. Climbing a mountain is fun and exhilarating. It’s a workout. When you get up a mountain you’re spent. You need a hot meal. For a hot meal get a portable stove. For me, backpacking stoves are an essential part of my gear.

Backpacking stoves will allow you to cook and heat your food. There are many kinds of stove powered either by butane or propane. Butane stoves don’t work very well in high altitudes. I use butane for fishing and hiking trips. For high altitude cooking use a propane stove.

I love the outdoors. When I’m outdoors I feel free. I try to spend weekends camping or hiking. The only downside to camping outside is the food you eat. I don’t expect gourmet but I do want to eat good food. To make the food appetizing I try to cook or heat it using a portable butane stove.

A portable butane stove is a good gadget to have outdoors. It allows me to heat or cook food. My first couple of climbs all I ate was bars and gel and some chips. Good thing I discovered portable butane stove. It’s small enough to carry in the backpack and it’s not so heavy.

What Type of Camper Are You?

When going camping you have to bring camping equipment with you. Deciding what to take can be determined by finding out what kind of camper you are. There is the minimalist camper who can get by with the minimal amount of camping gear and takes only the basics with him. This type of camper tries to make their outdoors experience as best as they can. Then there is the gear-oriented camper who wants to be comfortable and be prepared for anything.

I fall in the gear-oriented category. During my camping trip I took a lot of gear with me as I am a creature of comfort. For example, with all the propane camp stoves out in the market, I would rather cook my food using a stove than using a fire. My wife, on the other hand, is of the minimalist type. It really depends on the camper on how much or little gear they want to take with them when going camping.

One of the most important items in your checklist when you are backpacking would be food. These are typically ready-to-eat foods or those that require minimal preparation. However, most people would find ways to bring camping grills for more sumptuous meals outdoor. They are usually compact, lightweight and can easily fit in backpacks or coolers.

The kind and size of camping grills greatly depend on how many people you intend to feed. Some people keep these in the backyard for small barbeques. Amongst their different types, those that are fueled by propane of charcoal are still the most popular. Charcoal grills are commonly smaller and consist of pans, grates and detachable metal legs. Propane grills on the otherhand, consist of propane burners and powered by propane containers.
