Panel loading types are packs that can be accessed via the side just like in a conventional traveling bag. On the other hand, top-loading packs are accessed through the upper part of the pack. With these kinds of packs, one must strategically plan the loading system of gears. One common rule among hikers and campers is that the weight of the load should be placed accordingly. Alternately put light materials on the bottom first and the heavy ones on top until the pack is filled.
