childrens sleeping bags

Summer is here so we start thinking about activities that will include the children. Lessons learned in the classroom can be reinforced by a family vacation in a farm or cottage. Their experience in the natural setting will open their eyes to the ways of nature. Let them experience firsthand the value of conservation by teaching them recycling. Increase their knowledge of sustainability by planting trees.

A family nature trip will be very exciting to the kids but will be a lot of work for the adults. Start your packing with a checklist of what to bring. You will need a tent, childrens sleeping bags, toiletries, towels and enough clothes to last your vacation. Pack mosquito repellents and sunscreen. Bring board games to play while on the road. A rowdy team is better than a bored bunch.

camping water filters

April 2nd, 2009

Before you head out to camp with your family and friends, make sure you have all the gear needed for the trip. Don’t forget to bring camping water filters which are designed to clean water from an open source and make it safe for drinking. Camping water filters are very compact and portable. They have a ceramic cylinder filter system that can filter microbes which may be harmful to health.

Ceramic filter systems are very effective in filtering waterborne organisms such as amoeba that can cause tummy ache. Ceramic filters have a filter size of 0.2 microns that can block most microbes that are usually sized at 0.6 microns. These filters also have a layer of charcoal and other sediments that eliminate unpleasant water odor.

campfire cookware

April 2nd, 2009

When camping overnight, no one would think food can be delicious. The usual fare would be canned goods, sometimes eaten straight from the can. Fortunately, campers need not limit themselves to canned goods all the time. Now campfire cookware makes it easy for campers to enjoy home-cooked food away from home.

Unlike ordinary cookware, this type of cookware is usually made of cast iron. Most are even pre-seasoned to get tasty cooking all the time. Each pot or pan heats evenly. In case of a cold night, heat is also retained longer. It is thus no wonder that more and more campers are enjoying the outdoors with delicious food and homestyle cooking.
